In early 2016, Starkey Ranch will be opening up sections of it’s ambitious and long awaited District Park. This will open up many homes for sale in Odessa.
The planned 90 acre park within the 2,400 acre ranch will be the site of a brand new K8 school. The future school will hope to keep the stellar track record of Pasco County education. Students from Starkey Ranch are currently attending James W. Mitchell High School, Seven Springs Middle School, and Odessa Elementary School which have all received a grade of “A” from the Florida Department of Education. But the future school is not the only project in store for District Park, according to the development plans, the new park will contain: A library, a theater, 6 baseball/softball fields, 10 multipurpose fields, 3 playgrounds, 4 tennis courts, 4 basketball courts, a gymnasium and much more.
Presently, Starkey Ranch is already filled with a plethora of recreational activities. The Ranch currently contains a 5 mile paved trail, that in the future will connect with J.B. Starkey Wilderness Preserve trail. Also, there are a number of smaller parks to offset the massive ones for those small picnics or afternoon naps.. But some of the parks are not just for humans, dog owners will be happy to know that Whitfield park contains 2 dog parks so the whole family can enjoy the day at Starkey Ranch.
The first neighborhood planned for Starkey Ranch is Whitfield Park. The planned models for the brand new housing development contain 3 choices for single family home buyers: Garden homes are set to be between 1,6003,350 sq ft and will contain front entry garage, Park homes will also be between 1,6003,350 sq ft but will instead have a rear entry garage, and lastly the Village homes are set to be between 2,7004,100 sq ft.
The sheer size of Starkey Ranch leaves open all kinds of possibilities for future development as many more communities and houses are planned for the massive area increasing the number of homes for sale in Odessa. This is just the beginning for Starkey Ranch that will hope to achieve its ambitious goals of the next year.
